The APC AP8865 is a 0U vertical power distribution unit built for three-phase 208V environments. It delivers 44 outlets — 36 IEC C13, six IEC C19, and two NEMA 5-20R — from a single NEMA L21-30P input rated at 8.6 kW. Data centre managers use it to monitor real-time power draw and balance loads across phases.

Tool-Less Vertical Mounting and Locking Outlets

The 0U form factor mounts in the zero-U space at the rear of a standard rack without consuming rack units. A 5.9 ft cord reaches side or top power feeds, while locking IEC receptacles prevent accidental disconnects during cable management. Installers must verify the facility provides a 30 A three-phase service with an L21-30P receptacle and 24 A derated capacity.

Continuous Monitoring Under Sustained Load

Metering circuitry reports per-phase current, voltage, and kilowatt-hours through Web, SNMP, and Telnet interfaces without interrupting output. User-defined alarm thresholds trigger local and remote alerts before the 24 A derated limit is reached. Operating range spans -5 °C to 45 °C and 5 % to 95 % humidity, so thermal drift does not degrade measurement accuracy during extended runs.
