48V External Battery Pack for SMX UPS

The APC SMX48RMBP2U is a 48V external battery pack designed to extend the runtime of compatible Smart-UPS SMX models up to 1500 VA. It uses a maintenance-free sealed lead-acid battery with suspended electrolyte for leakproof operation. The unit is hot-swappable and mounts in a 2U rack or tower configuration. It does not function independently and requires a supported SMX UPS to operate.

Sustained Load Behaviour

Under continuous load the pack delivers a capacity of 864 VAh to keep critical equipment running longer during outages. Multiple packs can be connected, up to 10 units, to scale runtime for extended-run applications. Battery life is rated between a minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 5 years depending on usage conditions and ambient temperature. The sealed chemistry eliminates the need for routine fluid maintenance.

48V DC Interface Limits

The pack interfaces with the UPS over a 48V DC connection and is validated for use with SMX750, SMX750NC, SMX1000, SMX1500RM2U and SMX1500RM2UNC models. It cannot be used with UPS units outside this compatibility list or with different DC bus voltages. The 2U form factor fits standard rack rails using the included mounting brackets. Buyers who need a standalone power source or a different voltage platform will not be able to use this pack.
