Apogee MiC Plus USB Microphone

The Apogee MiC Plus is a professional studio quality USB condenser microphone with a cardioid pickup pattern. It connects directly to iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, Mac or PC for portable recording. Designed in California and built in the U.S.A., it captures vocals, instruments, voice-overs and interviews with high sensitivity and ample gain. Since 1985, Apogee has developed award-winning audio technology used in respected studios worldwide.

Direct USB Connectivity

The built-in USB interface removes the need for an external audio interface, preamp or phantom power supply. A single cable carries both power and digital audio to iOS devices, Mac or PC. This all-in-one design lets you record studio-quality tracks immediately without configuring additional hardware or installing proprietary drivers. The cardioid capsule focuses on the source while rejecting off-axis room sound.

Check Device Compatibility Before Ordering

Verify that your iOS device, Mac or PC provides sufficient USB power for condenser operation. Confirm your recording software selects the MiC Plus as its input and output device. Ensure you have a compatible USB cable for your specific port type. Buyers who need XLR connectivity, multi-channel recording or hardware monitoring controls should consider a different solution.

Questions about this item

Does the USB connection on the MiC Plus ever wear out and need replacing?

The MiC Plus uses a standard USB connection for iPad, iPhone, Mac and PC; no user-replaceable parts are identified for the connector.

What stops me from recording longer sessions on the MiC Plus?

Recording length is limited by the storage and battery of the connected iOS device, Mac or PC rather than the microphone itself.

How much heat or fan noise does the MiC Plus produce when left recording all day?

The MiC Plus has no internal fan and draws power from the host device, so it adds negligible heat and no audible noise during extended use.
