1" Sweat Brass Ball Valve for plumbing systems
The Apollo 95ALF20501 is a 1-inch full-port ball valve designed for inline installation using sweat connections. Its brass body and chrome-plated brass ball suit residential and commercial water lines. The lever handle allows quick manual control. It meets a 600 psi CWP rating and operates from 32 to 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
Replaces gate valves or worn stop valves in copper
Upgrading to this full-port design removes the flow restriction common with older globe or gate valves. The blowout-proof stem and PTFE seats reduce the risk of leaks that develop over time on compressed packing nuts. The jump is worth it when a supply line needs reliable shut-off without reducing pipe diameter.
Fits 1-inch copper tubing with sweat fittings
The valve requires soldering equipment and flux for installation on compatible tubing. Its two-piece brass body with EPDM seals handles standard potable water pressure. The plated steel lever clears adjacent fittings in tight runs. It does not suit threaded, press-fit or PEX systems without separate transition adapters.

Questions about this item
What 1" copper pipe preparation does the sweat connection need?
Clean and deburr both 1" copper tube ends, apply flux, slide the valve onto each tube, then sweat the joints with lead-free solder; the full-port body accepts standard 1" Type K, L or M tubing.
Which installation step is most often missed on this 600 psi CWP brass valve?
Forgetting to support the valve body while heating — thermal expansion can twist the inline joints, so brace the valve before sweating both ends.
What part should be inspected first if the lever handle becomes stiff after seasonal use?
Check the PTFE seats and EPDM body seals for mineral buildup; the chrome-plated brass ball and blowout-proof brass stem rarely wear, but seats and seals degrade in hard water.
