10.2-inch iPad with 256GB storage

The 2021 Apple iPad combines a 10.2-inch Retina display with True Tone and an A13 Bionic chip with Neural Engine. It offers 256GB of built-in storage, a 12MP Ultra Wide front camera with Center Stage, and an 8MP Wide rear camera. Fast 802.11ac Wi-Fi and up to 10 hours of battery life support daily tasks. Touch ID, stereo speakers, and a Lightning connector complete the package.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This iPad suits students and casual users who want a capable tablet for web browsing, video calls, media consumption, and light productivity with Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil support. Buyers who need cellular connectivity, a USB-C port, or a larger display should look at other models. Users requiring desktop-class multitasking or external monitor support will find the software limitations restrictive.

256GB storage capacity

The 256GB storage capacity is the key specification that determines whether this model fits your needs. It holds a large library of apps, photos, videos, and offline media without relying on cloud services. If your workflow demands more local space for creative projects or large file archives, this capacity may fall short. Choose a higher-capacity option if you store extensive media collections locally.

Questions about this item

What Wi-Fi standard does the 2021 10.2-inch iPad use and what does it limit?

The iPad uses 802.11ac Wi-Fi, which caps the maximum wireless link speed to the capabilities of that standard.

What physical connectors and dimensions affect keyboard or pencil attachment on this 10.2-inch model?

The 10.2-inch body fits the Smart Connector for a Smart Keyboard and the display works with the 1st generation Apple Pencil; both attach directly to the tablet.

How do you activate Center Stage on the 12MP Ultra Wide front camera and what step is often missed?

Open a supported video-calling app such as FaceTime; Center Stage turns on automatically when the app accesses the 12MP Ultra Wide camera, but it will not engage if the app lacks support or camera permission is denied.
