Compact 5 W USB Power Block

The Apple APLA1385U is a genuine 5 W AC-to-USB charger designed to plug directly into a standard mains outlet. It delivers 1.0 A at 5 V through a single USB port for straightforward device charging.

Ideal for legacy iPhone and iPod owners

This block suits users powering an original iPhone, iPhone 3G, 3GS or iPhone 4. Buyers needing higher wattage for modern smartphones or tablets should look at a more powerful adapter.

Simple wall-outlet integration

The compact form plugs straight into the wall without a separate cable, freeing a power-strip socket and keeping the charging setup minimal. No extra leads or desktop footprint are required.

Questions about this item

What USB cable is needed to connect this 5 W block to an iPhone?

A standard USB-A to 30-pin or Lightning cable carries the 1.0 A output from the block to the phone.

Will this charger work with an original iPod that only supports FireWire charging?

No, the block supplies 5 V over USB only, so FireWire-only iPods cannot charge from it.

How can I confirm the adapter is delivering power after I plug it in?

The connected device shows its charging indicator and begins drawing current from the USB port.
