32 GB Wi-Fi tablet for everyday use

The 10.2 inch IPS LCD shows 1620 by 2160 resolution with scratch-resistant glass and oleophobic coating. It runs on the Apple A10 Bionic chip with four cores and 3 GB of RAM. The 32 GB flash storage holds apps, documents and media for students or casual users who need a portable screen.

Silent passively cooled design with all-day battery

No fans or moving parts mean completely silent operation during normal tasks. The 8827 mAh cell powers the efficient A10 Bionic processor through typical mixed workloads. Heat stays low enough for comfortable handheld use without throttling or audible noise.

Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard support expand

The Lightning port and Bluetooth 4.2 connect first-generation Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard accessories for note-taking and typing. iOS 13.1 ships out of the box and can be updated to iOS 17 for current app compatibility and security patches. The 8 MP rear and 1.2 MP front cameras handle video calls and document scanning.

Questions about this item

How do I install the iOS 13.1 operating system on this iPad 10.2 7th Gen, and what step do people often miss?

The iPad ships with iOS 13.1 pre-installed; the step users miss is accepting the on-screen setup assistant prompts for Apple ID, Wi-Fi and location services before reaching the home screen.

What maintenance will the 8827mAh battery need after extended use?

The built-in lithium-ion battery is not user-replaceable; when capacity drops below 80 % Apple or an authorised service provider must replace the entire unit.

At what point does the A10 Bionic chipset throttle during sustained workloads?

The quad-core A10 Bionic reduces clock speeds once its internal thermal sensor reaches the factory-set limit, which typically occurs during prolonged 3D rendering or 8.0 MP video recording sessions.
