Suits students and casual users.

This tablet suits students and casual users who browse, stream and handle light productivity with the Smart Keyboard and 1st gen Apple Pencil. Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2 cover standard wireless needs. Buyers who want more storage or who need multiple USB ports for peripherals should look at something else.

32GB storage decides fit for apps and media

The single specification that decides whether this is the right part is the 32GB storage capacity. It determines how many apps, photos and offline videos you can keep on the device. If your workflow demands a larger local library, this capacity will be the limiting factor.

Questions about this item

Will the 10.2-inch 2160 x 1620 IPS display work with my existing Lightning accessories?

The Lightning connector on this iPad is the same interface used on earlier iPhone and iPad models, so cables, chargers and docks that use Lightning will connect directly.

How can I confirm the A12 Bionic chip and 3 GB memory are recognised after first boot?

Open Settings, tap General then About; the Model Name will show iPad (8th generation), the Capacity line will read 32 GB and the iOS Version will start at 13.

Does the box include the 1st gen Apple Pencil or Smart Keyboard, or must I buy them separately?

The package contains the iPad, a Lightning to USB cable and a USB power adapter; the Apple Pencil (1st generation) and Smart Keyboard are sold separately.
