11-inch iPad with A16 chip

The 11-inch iPad is a tablet built around the A16 chip and a Liquid Retina display. It offers 128 GB of storage, Wi-Fi 6 and 5G connectivity, plus a USB-C port. The yellow finish distinguishes this unit from the other three colours in the range. It suits students, mobile professionals and anyone who wants a capable all-day device.

Thermals, noise and power

The A16 chip runs cool during typical workloads such as web browsing, video playback and light creative tasks. The fanless design means the tablet is completely silent in normal use. All-day battery life is quoted, so the device can handle a full working day without needing a recharge.

Cellular connectivity decides fit

The inclusion of 5G cellular alongside Wi-Fi 6 is the specification that determines whether this model matches your workflow. Buyers who only need Wi-Fi should consider the non-cellular version, while those who require constant mobile data access will find the 5G modem essential.

Questions about this item

How do I insert a SIM card for 5G on this iPad, and what mistake should I avoid?

Use the SIM eject tool on the side tray to insert a nano-SIM or activate an eSIM in Settings; the common error is forcing the tray in upside down.

Which component will need replacement first after years of daily charging?

The built-in lithium-ion battery is the only user-replaceable part that degrades over time; Apple or an authorised service provider must swap it.

At what point does sustained heavy workloads trigger performance limits on the A16 chip?

Extended high-load tasks such as 4K video export or gaming will eventually hit thermal throttling, reducing clock speeds until the aluminium chassis dissipates heat.
