9.7" Retina tablet for everyday use

The Apple iPad 6th Generation 9.7" 32 GB Space Gray tablet runs iOS 11 on an A10 Fusion chip with an M10 coprocessor. It offers a 2048 x 1536 Multi-Touch Retina Display at 264 ppi. Built-in storage is 32 GB with 2 GB of memory. Connectivity includes 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2.

Upgrade from older iPads without Pencil support

This model adds Apple Pencil compatibility for drawing, notes and document signing. The A10 Fusion chip enables augmented reality apps that earlier tablets cannot run. The jump is worth it if you need stylus input or AR capability on a 9.7" screen.

32 GB storage handles core apps and media

The 32 GB capacity fits essential apps, documents and a moderate photo library. Heavy offline video libraries or large game collections will fill the space quickly. A 32.4-watt-hour battery delivers up to 10 hours of web browsing, video playback or music listening on Wi-Fi.

Questions about this item

What physical space does the 9.7" iPad need for everyday use?

The tablet measures 7.5 mm thin and weighs roughly one pound, so it fits in most small bags, sleeves, or tablet compartments without extra bulk.

How do I set up the iPad correctly, and which step is often missed?

Power on, follow the on-screen iOS 11 prompts, connect to an 802.11ac Wi-Fi network, sign in with an Apple ID, then enable iCloud Backup — many users skip the backup step and lose data later.

What will need replacement on this iPad after extended use?

The built-in 32.4-watt-hour lithium-polymer battery is not user-replaceable; when its capacity fades, a professional battery service is required.
