Product identity

This Apple iPad 9.7" 6th Gen tablet offers 32 GB of storage and a 2048 x 1536 Retina display with Apple Pencil support. It runs iOS 11.3 out of the box and can be upgraded to iPadOS 15.1. The Wi-Fi only model includes an A10 Fusion processor, 2 GB of RAM, and dual cameras for everyday tasks.

Upgrade context

It replaces older 9.7" iPads that lack Apple Pencil support or run iOS versions no longer updated to iPadOS 15.1. The jump is worth it when you need a fully laminated display alternative with Touch ID and dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi for modern app compatibility.

Ideal buyer

Suits students and casual users who want a lightweight tablet for note-taking, web browsing, and media consumption with Apple Pencil. Not for buyers who need cellular connectivity, a Smart Connector for keyboard accessories, or more than 32 GB of built-in storage.

Questions about this item

What screen protector size fits the 9.7 inch Retina display?

A 9.7 inch screen protector matches the display diagonal; the oleophobic coating already resists fingerprints so choose a thin film to keep touch sensitivity.

How do I pair the Apple Pencil with the Lightning port?

Remove the Pencil cap, insert the Lightning plug into the iPad port, then tap Pair when the prompt appears; charge for a minute before first use.

When should the internal 32 GB flash storage be replaced?

The soldered storage cannot be replaced; free space by offloading photos to iCloud, deleting unused apps, or clearing Safari cache when capacity runs low.
