Ideal first tablet

The Apple iPad 9th Gen 64GB 10.2" Space Gray tablet is a new device suited for students and casual users who want a reliable iPad for everyday tasks. Its 10.2-inch Retina display with 2160x1620 resolution and 500 nits brightness makes reading, streaming, and browsing comfortable. The A13 Bionic chip and 3GB RAM provide smooth performance for standard apps and light multitasking. Touch ID adds secure authentication and Apple Pay support.

64GB storage and 3GB RAM headroom

The 64GB internal storage holds a solid library of apps, photos, and documents for typical personal use. Users who keep large offline video libraries or extensive creative project files will find the capacity limiting. The 3GB RAM handles several open apps and browser tabs well, but heavy multitasking with demanding pro apps may cause reloads. Battery health between 80% and 100% supports all-day mixed use.

Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2 limits

Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) delivers reliable speeds for streaming 1080p video and general web use, though it lacks the throughput and efficiency of newer Wi-Fi standards. Bluetooth 4.2 connects keyboards, mice, and headphones adequately, but range and power efficiency fall behind current versions. The Lightning port remains USB 2.0 speed, so large file transfers to a computer take longer than on USB-C iPads. No cellular option means internet access requires a Wi-Fi network.

Questions about this item

Will the iPad 9th Gen with A13 Bionic chip and 3GB RAM run the same apps as my older iPad Air 2?

The A13 Bionic chip and 3GB RAM support current iPadOS releases, so most apps that run on an iPad Air 2 will also run here, often with better responsiveness.

How can I verify the 10.2-inch Retina display and Touch ID are working correctly after setup?

Open Settings > Display & Brightness to confirm 2160x1620 resolution and 500 nits brightness, then enroll a fingerprint in Touch ID & Passcode to test the sensor.

Does the box include a charger and cable, or do I need to buy a Lightning cable and power adapter separately?

The unit ships as a Grade B tablet only; a Lightning to USB cable and a compatible USB power adapter must be purchased separately.
