Apple iPad Air 2 A1566 64GB Space Gray

This new iPad Air 2 offers a 9.7-inch Retina Display with 2048 x 1536 resolution and anti-reflective coating. It runs on the 64-bit A8X chip with M8 coprocessor and includes 64GB storage plus 2GB memory. Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with MIMO and Bluetooth 4.0 provide connectivity.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This tablet suits users who want a thin, light iPad running iOS with 64GB of local storage for apps and media. The 0.24-inch profile and 0.96 lb weight make it easy to carry. Buyers who need cellular data on the go, more than 64GB of built-in space, or a newer iPadOS version should consider other models.

Deciding specification: 64GB built-in storage

The single specification that decides fit is the 64GB built-in storage, which cannot be expanded. If your apps, photos, and offline files fit within that capacity, this iPad works. If you need more local space or a memory card slot, this is not the right part.

Questions about this item

What Wi-Fi standard does the iPad Air 2 A1566 need from my router to reach its top speed?

The tablet uses 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with MIMO, so a router supporting 802.11ac will allow downloads up to 866 Mbps.

Will Bluetooth 4.0 accessories such as keyboards or headphones still pair reliably with this iPad?

Yes, Bluetooth 4.0 is backward-compatible; existing keyboards, mice and audio devices will connect and work normally.

How can I confirm the Retina display and A8X chip are performing correctly after I set it up?

Open a high-resolution photo or video — the 2048 x 1536 panel should show sharp detail — then launch a demanding app; smooth animation indicates the CPU and graphics are running as expected.
