Compact 7.9" tablet for light use

This Apple iPad Mini 4 offers a 7.9 inch Retina Display in a Space Gray finish. It runs iOS with 2GB of memory and 16GB of built-in storage. The device is sold new with a USB charging cable included. Buyers who need more storage or a larger screen should consider other models.

Sustained performance with 2GB memory

The 2GB memory handles everyday tasks such as web browsing, email and video playback. Under continuous load the limited RAM may require apps to reload when switching between them. Storage space fills quickly with offline media or large apps. Users who run demanding multitasking workflows will find the headroom tight.

Grade B cosmetic condition noted

The unit shows light to moderate scratches on the body and screen visible from a short distance. A case and screen protector can conceal most of these marks. The Lightning connector works with the supplied cable for charging and syncing. Buyers who want a flawless exterior should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Does the 7.9" Retina display or the 2 GB of memory generate noticeable heat during long sessions?

The 7.9" Retina display and 2 GB memory run cool enough for all-day use; the metal back acts as a passive heatsink and the iOS power management throttles the A8 chip before surface temperature becomes uncomfortable.

What power adapter must I already own to charge the included USB-to-Lightning cable?

Any USB-A charger delivering 5 V at 1 A or more will charge the 16 GB iPad Mini 4; the box includes only the cable, so you supply the adapter.

Will the 16 GB storage and iOS limit which older accessories or apps I can keep using?

The 16 GB capacity and current iOS version restrict large legacy apps and offline media, but Bluetooth keyboards, Lightning headphones and AirPrint printers that worked with earlier iPads still pair and function normally.
