Compact tablet for light mobility

The Apple iPad Mini 4 A1550 delivers a 7.9 inch IPS display with 2048×1536 resolution in a 0.65 pound chassis. It runs iPadOS 15.4 on an Apple A8 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz with 2GB of memory. The 16GB storage capacity suits users who rely on cloud services and streaming rather than large local libraries. Wi‑Fi and cellular connectivity are unlocked for carrier flexibility.

Steady performance within thermal limits

The A8 chip maintains its 1.5 GHz speed during typical multitasking such as web browsing, email and video playback. Under sustained load the tablet manages heat without throttling aggressively, keeping the interface responsive for productivity apps. The 2GB memory ceiling means background apps may reload when switching between heavier tasks. Battery life supports a full day of mixed use on a single charge.

Step up from earlier minis or basic slates

This model replaces the iPad mini 3, dropping weight from 0.73 to 0.65 pounds while keeping the same sharp 2048×1536 panel. The jump is worthwhile for buyers who want the thinner profile and the A8 processor instead of the older A7. Users needing more than 16GB of onboard storage should consider the 128GB variant, as this unit cannot be expanded.
