Suits readers and light creators

Buyers who want a pocketable screen for reading, streaming or sketching on trusted Wi-Fi will value the compact form and 64 GB storage. Shoppers who need cellular data away from hotspots or more local space for large media libraries should look at other configurations.

Wi-Fi only connectivity decides fit

This unit provides 802.11ax dual-band wireless and Bluetooth 5.0 but no mobile broadband modem. If your workflow depends on internet access outside known networks, the missing cellular radio makes this model unsuitable.

Questions about this item

Does the 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display need a specific screen protector or case cut-out?

The 8.3-inch Liquid Retina IPS LCD panel uses the exact dimensions of the iPad mini 6, so any screen protector or case labelled for that model will align with the True Tone and P3 wide-color display.

How do I set up the A15 Bionic chip and 4 GB RAM for first use, and what step is often missed?

Power on, follow the on-screen Setup Assistant to connect to Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6 and sign in with an Apple ID; the step most people skip is enabling automatic iOS updates so the 6-core CPU and 16-core Neural Engine stay current.

When will the battery need replacement given its 80-100% health rating?

With battery health between 80% and 100%, expect normal daily use for roughly 500 full charge cycles before capacity drops below 80%; iOS will notify you under Battery Health when service is recommended.
