iPad Pro 12.9" second generation

This 12.9-inch tablet runs iOS 15.4 on an Apple A10X Fusion chip clocked at 2.3 GHz with 4 GB of memory and 256 GB of built-in storage. The Liquid Retina display delivers a 2732×2048 resolution at 264 ppi, 120 Hz refresh, 600 cd/m² brightness and P3 colour gamut support. It includes Wi-Fi and unlocked cellular connectivity in a silver finish.

Upgrade from earlier 9.7-inch iPad Pro

The larger 12.9-inch panel, 120 Hz refresh rate and six-core A10X Fusion processor make this model worth the jump for users who need more screen area for split-view multitasking, creative work with Apple Pencil or high-fidelity media review. Buyers who only consume content on a smaller display will not see the same benefit.

Fits workflows needing portable canvas

The 256 GB capacity stores large ProRes video clips, RAW photo libraries and offline maps without relying on cloud sync. Unlocked cellular lets field teams stay connected without a phone hotspot. Users who require multiple external monitors or desktop-class file-system access should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

What clearance does the 12.9-inch chassis need for the Smart Connector and Lightning port?

The flat 12.9-inch body uses a bottom-edge Smart Connector for keyboards and a Lightning port for charging; leave a few millimetres behind the lower edge so cables and covers seat fully.

Which step do buyers skip when activating the A1671 on a carrier network?

Insert an active nano-SIM before running the iOS 15.4 setup assistant; the cellular radios stay dormant until the SIM is recognised and the carrier profile downloads.

When should the 256 GB storage be offloaded to keep the A10X Fusion running smoothly?

iOS 15.4 manages the 256 GB automatically, but moving large video projects to iCloud or a computer once free space falls below 20 GB prevents thermal throttling during sustained 120 Hz workloads.
