The floating cantilever design lets you adjust the viewing angle smoothly while the tablet stays securely in place.

Build quality and daily connectivity

A scissor mechanism provides 1 mm key travel for quiet, responsive typing across full-size backlit keys. The integrated multi-gesture touchpad supports cursor control without reaching for the screen. A single USB-C port on the keyboard handles pass-through charging so the iPad stays powered while you work. Front and back panels protect the device when closed.

Replaces a separate keyboard and case

This unit combines a protective cover, adjustable stand, full-size keyboard and trackpad in one accessory. It removes the need to carry a standalone Bluetooth keyboard and a separate folio case. The jump is worthwhile for anyone who types long-form content on an iPad and wants a laptop-like experience without adding bulk.

Questions about this item

Does the USB-C port on the Magic Keyboard carry data or only power?

The single USB-C port is for charging the keyboard itself; it does not pass data or video to the iPad.

Will the floating cantilever hinge hold a 10.9" iPad Air (Gen 4 or 5) as securely as an 11" iPad Pro?

Yes, the magnetic attachment works with both sizes, though the 10.9" Air sits slightly lower in the hinge.

How do you pair the keyboard to the iPad the first time?

Attach the iPad magnetically to the connector; pairing is automatic with no Bluetooth menu required.
