45 mm Starlight GPS Smart Watch

The Apple Watch Series 9 in 45 mm Starlight aluminium is a GPS-only smartwatch built for iPhone users who want health tracking and notifications without a cellular plan. It pairs exclusively with iOS and offers 64 GB of onboard storage for apps, music and podcasts. The 1.91 inch Always-On display runs at 484 x 396 pixels.

Sustained daily workload

The watch handles continuous heart-rate monitoring, workout tracking and background app refresh throughout the day on its 308 mAh battery. Magnetic fast charging via USB-C tops the cell quickly between sessions. Water resistance to 50 metres means swimming and showering do not interrupt operation.

Pre-purchase checklist

Confirm your iPhone model and iOS version support the current watchOS release before ordering. Verify that GPS-only connectivity meets your needs, as this unit cannot make calls or stream data without the paired phone nearby. Ensure you have a USB-C power source for the included magnetic charger.

Questions about this item

How warm does the 45 mm case get and does the fan run loudly when I wear it all day?

The aluminium case stays close to skin temperature during continuous wear; there is no fan, so operation is completely silent.

What must I already own to set up and use the GPS-only model?

You need an iPhone running a compatible iOS version to pair, activate and manage the watch.

Will the magnetic USB-C charger work with the older charging puck I kept from my Series 5?

No — the Series 9 uses a USB-C magnetic fast charger, which is a different connector and cable than the USB-A puck used on earlier models.
