1 in Threaded Aluminum Conduit Union

The Appleton Century Crofts union joins two sections of 1 in rigid conduit with female NPT threads on each end. It suits electricians and maintenance crews who need a straight, code-compliant connection in hazardous areas. The plain aluminum body resists corrosion in industrial environments.

Sustained performance in hazardous locations

The fitting carries Class I Division 1 and 2 ratings for Groups A through D, plus Class II Division 1 and 2 for Groups E, F, G and Class III. These certifications mean the union maintains its seal and structural integrity under continuous exposure to flammable gases, vapours or combustible dusts. Aluminum construction dissipates heat without degrading the hazardous-location seal.

Build quality and daily installation

The 1 3/4 in overall length and 1 23/32 in square profile fit tight conduit runs without excessive protrusion. Female-to-female threads allow direct coupling of two male-threaded conduit ends or fittings. Plain finish avoids coating buildup that can interfere with thread engagement during repeated assembly.

Questions about this item

Does the aluminum union generate heat or noise when conduit runs continuously?

The union is a passive aluminum fitting with no moving parts or electrical components, so it produces no heat or noise during continuous operation.

What conduit and thread type must already be in place for this 1 in FNPT union to connect?

You need 1 in rigid conduit with female NPT threads on both ends to match the union's 1 in FNPT x 1 in FNPT hazardous-location ends.

Will this union work with older rigid conduit that has the same 1 in trade size?

Yes, the union is rated for 1 in rigid conduit vertically or horizontally, so existing 1 in trade-size conduit fits the FNPT ends directly.
