A steel conduit body cover with gasket and screws fits FM7 Unilet bodies for Class I, Division 2 hazardous locations and is UL listed
The Appleton Century Crofts APP270IG is a steel cover for FM7 Unilet conduit outlet bodies with a 3/4 inch hub size. It is intended for electricians and installers who need to close off conduit access points in hazardous locations rated Class I Division 2. The cover includes screws and a gasket for a secure screw-in connection. It carries UL listing E2527 for the specified hazardous rating.
As a passive steel conduit cover the product generates no heat and produces no audible noise during operation. It draws no electrical power because it contains no active components or circuitry. The solid metal construction simply seals the conduit body against dust and moisture. Performance is limited to maintaining the enclosure integrity under the rated hazardous location classification.
The package supplies mounting screws and a gasket so the cover can be installed immediately without sourcing separate hardware. The gasket ensures the seal required for the Class I Division 2 rating is achieved at the screw-in joint. No software or firmware is included or required for this mechanical accessory. The hardware provided completes the assembly for the intended hazardous location use.

Screw the cover onto the FM7 body using the included screws and ensure the supplied gasket seats evenly; the step most often missed is confirming the gasket is fully seated before final tightening.
Inspect the steel cover and gasket periodically for corrosion or compression set; replace the gasket if it no longer seals tightly and the cover if threads or material show damage.
The cover remains UL Listed E2527 for Class I Division 2 service; the first practical limit is gasket degradation from sustained exposure, which can compromise the hazardous-location seal.
