A 90-degree threaded iron elbow connects 1-1/4 inch IMC conduit with hazardous-location ratings for Class I, II and III divisions
This Appleton Century Crofts elbow connects 1-1/4 inch IMC conduit at a 90-degree angle. It is built for hazardous locations rated Class I, Division 1 and 2, Groups A, B, C, D and Class II, Division 1 and 2, Groups E, F, G. The fitting suits industrial electrical installations that require a directional change in threaded rigid metal conduit runs.
The iron body carries an electroplated finish that resists corrosion in demanding environments. Threaded female-to-male ends (1-1/4 in FNPT to 1-1/4 in MNPT) join securely without additional sealing compounds. The rigid metal construction contains no moving parts, so it adds no operational noise or power draw to the conduit system.
The Class I, II and III hazardous-location rating means the fitting meets code for explosive gas, dust and fibre atmospheres without extra enclosures. The 3-5/16 inch overall length fits standard conduit spacing. No software or accessories are bundled; the component is a standalone mechanical fitting for threaded IMC conduit.

Thread the female NPT end onto the conduit and the male NPT end into the fitting; the step often missed is applying thread sealant rated for hazardous locations before tightening to maintain the Class I Division 1 seal.
Inspect the electroplated finish periodically for corrosion or damage; replace the elbow if the plating is compromised or if threads show wear that could affect the hazardous-location rating.
The electroplated iron coating is the first limit; once the finish degrades, the fitting may no longer meet Class I Division 1 Groups A B C D requirements.
