A 24-inch flexible conduit coupling with bronze and brass construction for hazardous locations rated Class I, II and III
The Appleton Century Crofts EXLK-224 is a 24 in flexible coupling rated for Class I, Division 1 and 2, Groups A, B, C, D and Class II, Division 1 and 2, Groups E, F, G. It connects 3/4 in FNPT to 3/4 in MNPT ends on IMC or RMC conduit where vibration or movement is a problem. Bronze construction with a brass core provides the required hazardous-location rating.
The Natural Finish bronze body with brass core handles the environmental demands of hazardous areas without extra coatings. Multi-angle connection orientation allows the coupling to absorb movement and vibration in normal use. Overall length is 29 1/2 in while the flexible section measures 24 in, giving a compact profile for tight routing.
The product ships as a single coupling with no additional fittings, sealants or configuration tools. Installers must supply compatible 3/4 in IMC or RMC conduit and any required hazardous-location sealing compounds separately. The 30.500 specification length confirms the manufactured dimension for layout planning.

Thread the 3/4 in FNPT end onto rigid conduit and the 3/4 in MNPT end into the fitting, then tighten both joints to maintain the hazardous-location seal; the step often missed is confirming full thread engagement on the male side before final torque.
Inspect the bronze housing and brass core periodically for corrosion or fatigue cracks, especially where vibration occurs; replace the coupling if the flexible section shows permanent deformation or the threads no longer seal to Class I Division 1 requirements.
The 24 in flexible length absorbs movement up to its multi-angle design limit; sustained vibration beyond that range stresses the bronze-to-brass interface and the 3/4 in NPT threads, making thread seal integrity the first failure point.
