Sealing fitting for 1-1/4 inch IMC conduit, aluminium construction, rated for Class I Division 1 and 2 hazardous locations
This Appleton EYF-125AL sealing conduit fits 1-1/4 inch IMC and RMC raceways in hazardous locations. The aluminum body with powder coating resists corrosion while maintaining electrical continuity. It carries Class I Division 1 and 2, Groups C and D ratings plus Class II Division 1 and 2, Groups E, F, G and Class III approvals. The fitting prevents gases, vapours or flames from migrating between conduit sections.
Standard couplings cannot block flame propagation in Division 1 environments. This sealing fitting installs vertically or horizontally with female NPT threads on both ends. The 4 15/16 inch overall length fits tight enclosures where conduit runs change direction. The jump is worth it when code requires a listed seal between conduit sections in explosive atmospheres.
Installers running 1-1/4 inch IMC or RMC in refineries, grain elevators or chemical plants will specify this fitting. It is not for buyers who need EMT compatibility or larger trade sizes. Builders working in non-classified areas can use standard couplings instead. The aluminium construction also rules it out for applications requiring ferrous metal conduit bodies.

The fitting has 1-1/4 in FNPT threads on both ends and is listed for use with IMC and RMC conduit of the same trade size.
Thread the fitting onto the conduit, pack the hub with approved sealing compound, and let it cure before energising; the frequent error is skipping the compound or using an unlisted type.
Inspect the seal periodically for cracks or corrosion; if the compound has degraded or the aluminium body shows damage, replace the entire fitting.
