A 1/2 in threaded aluminium sealing conduit rated for hazardous locations, preventing gases and flames from spreading through IMC and RMC systems
The Appleton EYF-50AL is a hazardous-location sealing fitting designed for 1/2-inch trade size IMC and RMC conduit systems. It prevents the passage of gases, vapors or flames between conduit sections in classified areas. Electrical contractors and maintenance teams use it where code requires a vertical or horizontal seal in Class I, II and III locations.
The aluminium body with powder coating resists corrosion in harsh industrial environments. Female NPT threads on both ends allow direct connection to 1/2-inch conduit without additional adapters. The fitting carries hazardous-location ratings for Groups A through G, meeting requirements for Division 1 and 2 installations.
This fitting accepts only 1/2-inch trade size IMC or RMC conduit with female NPT threads. It will not suit larger conduit sizes, EMT, PVC or metric-threaded systems. Buyers needing a different trade size, thread type or conduit material must select an alternative fitting.

Thread the 1/2 in FNPT ends onto IMC or RMC conduit, then pack the interior with approved sealing compound to block gases and flames; the compound fill is the step most often omitted.
Inspect the aluminum body and powder coating for corrosion or damage after any conduit modification; replace the fitting if the seal integrity is compromised or the coating fails.
The 1/2 in trade size restricts the number and size of conductors that can pass through while maintaining the Class I Division 1 seal, so conduit fill capacity is the limiting factor.
