Reduces threaded IMC conduit from four inches to three-and-a-half inches with hazardous-location-rated aluminum construction
This reducing bushing connects 3-1/2 inch female-threaded IMC to 4 inch male-threaded conduit in hazardous areas. It carries Class I Division 1 and 2 ratings for Groups B, C, D and Class II Division 1 and 2 for Groups E, F, G. The aluminum body suits industrial electrical installations.
The FNPT to MNPT ends let installers step down from larger to smaller trade sizes without extra couplings. Plain aluminum finish resists corrosion in damp or chemical environments. Overall length of 1 7/16 inch keeps the joint compact inside enclosures or junction boxes.
This fitting only works with intermediate metal conduit and threaded rigid metal conduit of the stated trade sizes. It cannot join EMT, PVC or flexible conduit types. Buyers needing different hazardous-location ratings or non-threaded connections must select another product.

The plain-finish aluminum resists galling during installation, and the hazardous-location rating covers Class I Division 1 and 2 Groups B C D so the material is accepted for those atmospheres without additional coating.
Each bushing occupies 1-7/16 in of thread engagement, so the total stack length equals that figure multiplied by the quantity used; plan the run accordingly.
The bushing is a passive mechanical fitting with no electrical resistance of its own, so it contributes no measurable heat or vibration regardless of the current in the conduit.
