A hazardous-location swivel elbow connects 1-inch IMC or threaded RMC conduit with a 5-inch overall length and electroplated iron finish
The Appleton Century Crofts swivel elbow is a hazardous-location conduit fitting built from iron with an electroplated silver finish. It carries Class I Division 1 and 2, Class I Zone 1 and 2, Class II Division 1 and 2 and Class III ratings. The fitting connects 1 inch female NPT to 1 inch female NPT for use with IMC and threaded rigid metal conduit.
The swivel design allows the two female-threaded ends to rotate relative to each other, simplifying alignment between fixed conduit runs. Over-tightening can damage the electroplated coating and compromise the hazardous-location seal, so hand-tight plus a controlled wrench turn is recommended. Verify that the conduit threads are clean and undamaged before assembly.
Confirm that the existing system uses 1 inch IMC or threaded rigid metal conduit with matching female NPT threads. The installation area must fall within the listed hazardous-location classes and groups for this fitting to be code-compliant. Ensure the overall length of 13.800 units fits the available space between junction points.
