2-1/2 In Straight Cord Connector

This Appleton Electric TC250197 connector fits 2-1/2 inch MNPT box entries and accepts a single cord with a diameter between 1.63 in and 1.97 in. The straight body is made from copper-free aluminium with a silver finish. It is rated to standards C 22.2 No. 30, UL 2225 and UL 514B.

No external strain relief supplied

The unit ships without an external strain relief gland or colour-coded gland, so the installer must provide their own cable-securing method if required. The insulated body is not offered on this model, leaving the connection non-insulated at the entry point.

Cord diameter range 1.63 in to 1.97 in

This single specification determines whether the connector matches the cable you are terminating; cords outside that range will not seal or clamp correctly in this fitting.

Questions about this item

Will the copper-free aluminium body need any replacement or maintenance over time?

The connector body is copper-free aluminium with no external strain relief and no insulation, so there are no moving parts or seals that require scheduled replacement.

What is the maximum cable diameter this straight connector can accept before it becomes the limiting factor?

The cord diameter range is 1.63 in to 1.97 in; cables larger than 1.97 in will not fit the gland.

Does the silver aluminium housing run hot or draw extra power when used continuously?

This is a passive mechanical fitting with no electrical consumption, so it generates no heat and draws no power during continuous use.
