A 3/4 in threaded steel union joins rigid conduit runs in hazardous locations
The Appleton Century Crofts UNF75 is a threaded rigid union designed to join two sections of 3/4 in conduit. It suits electricians and installers working on hazardous-location raceway systems where a secure, code-compliant connection is required.
This union replaces a standard coupling when the conduit run must accommodate expansion, contraction or vibration without stressing the fittings. The jump is worth it when the installation demands a hazardous-location rating and a female-to-female threaded joint that maintains grounding continuity.
The fitting only accepts 3/4 in rigid conduit with matching FNPT threads, so it cannot be used with EMT, flexible metal conduit or larger trade sizes. Its hazardous-location rating covers Class I, II and III divisions, but it does not extend to environments outside those classifications.
Measured against everything we stock in Electrical Conduit & Fittings, at today’s prices. Recalculated every night.

The UNF75 rigid union accepts 3/4 in trade size rigid conduit on both ends.
Start both conduit ends by hand into the female threads, then tighten with a strap wrench to avoid damaging the powder-coated finish.
Replace the union if the electroplated coating shows corrosion, the threads are damaged, or the hazardous location rating is compromised by physical damage.
