The part fits 46 specific Maytag models including the 6498, 7458, 7498, 6458, 9475 and 9495 series. Buyers with other brands or unlisted model numbers should verify compatibility before ordering. This igniter will not work in ovens that use a different ignition system or mounting arrangement.

Critical match is the exact model number

Confirm that your range model appears in the 46-model fitment list before purchase. The part number 12400035 and cross-reference WB2X9998 must correspond to the original component installed in your appliance. An incorrect match will prevent proper ignition and safe operation.

Questions about this item

How long does the 12400035 igniter last before it fails under daily oven use?

The igniter is a wear component; lifespan varies with how often the oven cycles, but it typically lasts several years before the element cracks or resistance rises too far to open the gas valve.

Does the 12400035 igniter run hot or draw extra power after the burner lights?

It glows continuously while the burner operates, so it stays hot and draws its rated current for the entire bake or broil cycle.

Which Maytag range models does the 12400035 igniter fit without modification?

It fits 46 listed Maytag models including the 6498, 7458, 7498, 6458, 9475 and 9495 series; verify your exact model number before ordering.
