Genuine Frigidaire Washer Door Strike

The Appliance Factory Parts 131279001 is a genuine Frigidaire OEM door strike designed for front-load washing machines. It attaches to the door and engages the door switch to confirm the door is securely closed. This part is compatible with Frigidaire and White-Westinghouse branded appliances. It replaces a damaged or missing strike to restore proper door locking function.

Installation and Function in the Appliance

The strike mounts directly onto the washer door and interacts with the door lock assembly on the cabinet. It requires no tools beyond those needed to access the door mounting points. Replacing a broken strike allows the door switch to activate correctly, enabling the wash cycle to start. It resolves issues where the machine fails to recognise a closed door.

Ideal for Targeted Repairs

This part suits owners of compatible Frigidaire or White-Westinghouse front-load washers needing a direct OEM replacement for a failed door strike. It is not intended for top-load machines, dryers, or appliances from other manufacturers. Buyers requiring a complete door lock assembly or a strike for a different brand should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Does the 131279001 door strike wear out first under daily front-load washer use?

The strike contacts the door switch each cycle; repeated closing can fatigue the plastic latch tip before the metal bracket.

Does the 131279001 generate noise, heat or draw power during all-day operation?

It is a passive mechanical catch with no motor, electronics or power draw; it adds no heat or sound beyond the normal door click.

Must I already own a Frigidaire or White-Westinghouse front-load washer for the 131279001 to work?

Yes — the strike is a Frigidaire genuine OEM part designed for compatible Frigidaire and White-Westinghouse front-load models.
