Medium Fire Ring for Big Green Egg

This replacement fire ring is manufactured by Appliance Factory Parts for the Big Green Egg Medium model. It carries part number BGE401243 and supersedes the previous reference 87000032. The component is sold individually as a new appliance part.

Compatibility limited to the Medium EGG

The part fits exactly one model: the Medium EGG from Big Green Egg. It will not install on Mini, Large, Extra Large or any other ceramic cooker variants. Buyers with a different EGG size must source the correct ring for that specific diameter.

Ceramic construction handles normal grill heat

The ring is built from the same high-temperature ceramic used in the original firebox. It withstands routine charcoal temperatures without cracking or warping. No electrical power, fans or moving parts are involved, so operation is silent and maintenance is limited to ash removal.

Questions about this item

What does the medium fire ring actually do inside a Medium EGG?

It forms the inner wall that holds lump charcoal above the draft door, letting air flow up through the fuel bed for even heat and clean smoke.

Which Big Green Egg model does part number BGE401243 fit?

The ring is made for the Medium EGG only; it will not seat correctly in Mini, Large or XL models.

What are the physical requirements for installing this fire ring?

The ceramic ring sits directly on the fire box floor and rests against the lower ceramic shell — no tools, brackets or fasteners are needed.
