Questions about this item

Will the thermocouple or electrode on this pilot assembly need periodic replacement?

As a genuine Empire Comfort pilot assembly for LP gas, the thermocouple and electrode are integral components; they are replaced by swapping the entire R5144 unit when performance declines.

What is the first limitation that appears when this pilot runs continuously on an Empire DVF-36 or DVF-42 fireplace?

The pilot orifice is calibrated for LP gas at the appliance's rated input; sustained operation stays within design limits as long as inlet pressure matches the fireplace specification.

How much heat does this pilot assembly add to the room when the Empire heater runs all day?

The standing pilot produces a small, constant flame that contributes minimal heat compared to the main burner output of the DVF-36, DVF-42 or BWBV-40 models it fits.
