  • Programmable brute-force defense wipes drive after failed attempts
  • Cross-platform OS-agnostic design works with Windows, Linux, Mac, Android, Chrome

Secure portable storage

The Apricorn Aegis NVX is a 500GB hardware-encrypted NVMe drive designed for professionals who must protect sensitive data while moving between devices. It uses 256-bit AES XTS encryption and onboard keypad authentication, so no software installation is required on the host system.

Simple connection, physical security

The drive connects via USB 3.2 Gen 2 at 10Gbps using a USB Type-C interface, appearing as a standard mass-storage device to Windows, Linux, Mac, Android and Chrome. A hardened epoxy coating protects internal components from tampering, while firmware lockdown prevents BadUSB-style malware attacks.

Interface and capacity limits

The USB 3.2 Gen 2 link caps sustained throughput at 10Gbps, which is below the peak capability of the internal NVMe controller. The 500GB capacity suits active project files but will not hold large media libraries or full system images for long-term archival.

What comes in the box with the 500GB Aegis NVX and what must I purchase separately?

The hardware-encrypted drive with onboard keypad is supplied; a USB Type-C cable or adapter for your host port is not included and must be bought separately.

Which capacity should I choose if I need hardware AES XTS encryption for sensitive project files?

The 500GB model provides 256-bit AES XTS encryption, FIPS 140-2 Level 3 validated security, and 10Gbps NVMe performance for protecting sensitive project files.
