Apricorn Aegis Secure Key 3.0 120 GB USB Drive

The Apricorn Aegis Secure Key 3.0 is a hardware-encrypted USB 3.0 flash drive with 120 GB capacity. It uses a built-in keypad for PIN authentication without requiring software drivers. The drive is designed for users who need portable data protection that works across different operating systems and devices immediately.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This drive suits professionals handling sensitive files who need FIPS-validated encryption and cross-platform plug-and-play security. Buyers who want higher storage capacities or faster transfer speeds than USB 3.0 provides should consider other options. Those needing biometric unlock or wireless access will not find those features here.

Questions about this item

What does the 120 GB capacity mean once the drive is plugged into my computer?

You get roughly 120 GB of hardware-locked, AES-encrypted storage that appears as a normal USB volume after you enter your PIN on the built-in keypad.

What does the USB 3.0 interface cap in practice?

The USB 3.0 connection limits maximum throughput to the 5 Gbit/s bus speed, so real-world transfers peak at the drive's internal controller rate within that ceiling.
