Product Identity

The Apricorn APCONFIGCDB is a configuration tool on CD that supports both PostgreSQL and SQL database environments. It is intended for system integrators and administrators who need to set up or adjust compatible Apricorn hardware using a database-driven interface. The disc provides the software required to manage device parameters through either supported database platform. UPC 708326914895 identifies this specific release.

Suitability

This accessory suits technicians who already work with PostgreSQL or standard SQL databases and want a single configurator that operates across both. It is not for users who require a graphical desktop application without a database backend, nor for those needing support for other database engines such as Oracle or MariaDB. Teams without database administration experience should look at alternative configuration methods.

Deciding Specification

The defining attribute is dual compatibility with PostgreSQL and SQL databases on a single CD. This compatibility determines whether the configurator can integrate with the existing database infrastructure used to manage the target Apricorn devices.

Questions about this item

Will the configurator CD need any firmware updates or replacement discs over time?

The disc contains the Configurator CDB software compatible with Postgres and SQL databases; no firmware updates or replacement media are mentioned.

What is the first limitation when running the configurator continuously?

The software runs from the optical disc, so the drive's read speed and the host system's database performance set the practical limit.

How much noise, heat or power does the disc add during all-day use?

A standard optical disc spins quietly in a modern drive, drawing only the drive's normal read power and generating negligible extra heat.
