16 GB hardware-encrypted flash drive

The Apricorn Aegis Secure Key 3 provides 16 GB of storage protected by hardware-based 256-bit AES-XTS encryption. An onboard alphanumeric keypad lets users enter a PIN before the drive becomes visible to the host system. It connects via USB 3.0 and requires no driver installation on Windows, macOS or Linux. The aluminium chassis is waterproof for physical durability.

195 MB/s read and 162 MB/s write

Sequential reads reach 195 MB/s and writes reach 162 MB/s over USB 3.0, so large photo libraries and video clips transfer quickly. The 16 GB capacity handles everyday document archives and portable application sets, but will fill quickly with raw footage or full system images. Performance drops to USB 2.0 speeds when plugged into older ports.

Onboard keypad and FIPS 140-2 Level 3

The built-in keypad enables driver-free authentication on any device with a USB-A port, including embedded systems and smart TVs. FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certification confirms the cryptographic module meets stringent government-grade requirements. Optional password-management software is available for download to simplify credential handling.
