Hardware AES XTS 256-bit encryption with keypad

The defining specification is the onboard AES XTS 256-bit hardware encryption engine accessed via the physical keypad. This allows PIN authentication independent of the host operating system. Verify your workflow requires this specific hardware encryption method before purchase.

Questions about this item

What real-world speed does the USB 3.0 interface cap at for this Aegis Padlock drive?

USB 3.0 limits the Aegis Padlock to a theoretical maximum of 5 Gbps, so sustained transfers typically peak well below that ceiling.

What are the exact dimensions I need to clear for the A25-3PL256-S4000 to fit in my bag or dock?

The drive measures 8.00 inches long, 6.00 inches wide and 3.00 inches high, weighing .82 pounds.

How do I set up the hardware encryption on the Aegis Padlock, and what step do most people skip?

Enter the default admin PIN, then immediately create your own user PIN; skipping the user-PIN creation leaves the drive in admin-only mode.
