What the game is

World Wonders is a strategy board game from Arcane Wonders for one to five players aged 14 and up. Each participant acts as an ancient leader constructing a city by placing polyomino tiles, buying buildings, roads and towers, and adding wooden monument pieces. The goal is to earn the most victory rings through efficient resource production and population growth.

What the components add

Wooden Wonder pieces serve as three‑dimensional landmarks that occupy space on the city board and provide scoring bonuses when positioned correctly. Gold tokens track the currency spent each round to acquire new tiles and structures. The variety of polyomino shapes forces players to adapt their layouts to the resources available on their personal map.

Setup and common issues

The rulebook walks through city‑board preparation, resource placement and the first‑round gold distribution in a few minutes. Because the game relies on spatial reasoning, new players sometimes misplace tiles and block future Wonder positions. Keeping the wooden monuments organised by type speeds up the building phase and reduces confusion during scoring.
