Drive Docking Solution
This adapter connects a single 2.5 SATA hard drive or SATA M.2 solid-state drive to a computer through a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port. It delivers transfer speeds up to 5Gbps and remains backward compatible with USB 2.0 interfaces. A blue activity LED shows drive status and a large power switch controls the connected device. The unit supports one drive at a time and does not operate both form factors simultaneously.
Ideal For Simple External Access
It suits users who need quick, tool-free access to SATA storage for data recovery, cloning or archiving without opening a case. The compact design works well on a desk or in a laptop bag for occasional use. Builders who require simultaneous operation of a 2.5 drive and an M.2 drive should look at a different solution. Anyone needing support for non-SATA M.2 protocols will not be served by this adapter.
Single-Drive SATA Constraint
The decisive specification is that only one SATA drive — either 2.5 or M.2 — can be active at any moment. If a workflow depends on reading from one SATA drive while writing to another, this product will not meet that requirement.

Questions about this item
Will the 2.5 SATA drive bay or M.2 slot wear out from repeated drive swaps?
The dock has no moving contacts in the SATA connectors; normal insertion cycles are rated for thousands of swaps, so the bays themselves will not need replacement.
What limits transfer speed during a long copy job — the 5Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 1 link or the SATA drive?
The SATA III drive tops out around 6Gbps, but the USB 3.2 Gen 1 connection caps sustained throughput at 5Gbps, so the USB link is the first bottleneck.
Does the blue activity LED or the power switch add noticeable heat when the dock runs all day?
Both draw only milliwatts; the dock body stays near ambient temperature during continuous operation.
