Outdoor Single-Mode Fiber Cable

This 165 ft OS2 SCA to SCA cable connects standard single-mode equipment in telecom, data-centre and industrial settings. It is built for outdoor runs where buried or aerial routing is required. Buyers needing multi-mode or indoor-only patch leads cannot use this product.

Stainless-Steel Armour and LSZH Jacket

A stainless-steel tube shields the glass core from crushing, rodent and pet damage. The low-smoke zero-halogen outer sheath adds flame-retardant protection for safer installation in ducts or walls. The bundled SCA coupler lets two cables join without tools for quick extension.

Low-Loss Connectors for Long Runs

Insertion loss is rated at .3 dB and return loss at 50 dB, preserving signal integrity over the full length. SCA angled-polish ends reduce back-reflection in high-speed links. The rugged construction withstands temperature swings and moisture in exposed outdoor environments.

Questions about this item

Will the stainless-steel armoured jacket need replacing after outdoor exposure?

The stainless steel tube and LSZH outer jacket protect the fibre core from weather and physical damage such as pet chewing, so no periodic jacket replacement is required.

What loss figure limits link distance on this OS2 simplex run?

Insertion loss is specified at .3 dB and return loss at 50 dB, which together set the practical distance limit for the 165 ft simplex connection.

Does the armoured construction make the cable run hotter in all-day outdoor use?

The passive fibre and stainless steel armour generate no heat, so temperature remains at ambient regardless of continuous operation.
