24V to 12V 480W Step-Down Converter
This ARCTIC buck converter steps a 24V DC source down to a regulated 12V output at up to 40A. It is built for DIY installers who need reliable 12V power for accessories such as LED strips, audio systems, GPS units or cooling fans in vehicles, boats or solar setups where only a 24V battery or bus is available.
IP68 Sealed Aluminium Housing
The die-cast aluminium case is potted with epoxy and rated IP68, so it resists water, dust and shock without external enclosures. Wiring is straightforward: connect the labelled input leads to a stable 18V–36V DC supply and the output leads to the load, observing polarity. The unit auto-recovers from over-temperature, over-current, over-voltage or short-circuit events once conditions return to normal.
18V–36V Input Range Decides Compatibility
The converter only operates when the source voltage stays between 18V and 36V; outside this window it will not regulate. Verify that your 24V nominal supply — whether battery, alternator or filtered generator output — never drops below 18V or exceeds 36V under load, otherwise a different converter topology is required.

Questions about this item
How can I confirm the ARCTIC buck converter is working correctly after wiring it?
Measure the output with a multimeter; it should read 12 V DC under load, and the aluminium housing should stay within the -35 °C to +80 °C operating range without triggering the over-temperature protection.
What comes in the box and what must I supply separately?
The converter unit with IP68-rated die-cast aluminium housing and epoxy potting is included; you must provide a stable 18 V to 36 V DC source and the 12 V load wiring.
Which input voltage version should I choose for a 24 V vehicle system?
Select the 24 V nominal input model, which accepts 18 V to 36 V and delivers 12 V at 40 A (480 W continuous, 600 W peak) with >96 % efficiency.
