ARCTIC F8 PWM PST CO 80 mm Fan

The ARCTIC F8 PWM PST CO is an 80 mm case fan designed for continuous operation inside desktop systems. It uses PWM sharing technology so that multiple fans can synchronise their speeds through a single motherboard header. Builders who want coordinated airflow control across several fans will find this useful.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This fan suits PC builders adding or replacing an 80 mm intake or exhaust fan in a case that supports the mounting pattern. It is not for laptops or external cooling pads despite the category label. It is also not for systems that cannot supply a standard 4-pin PWM header or that need a different frame size.

Key specification that decides fit

The critical specification is the 80 mm frame dimension combined with the 4-pin PWM and PST connectors. Verify that your case has an 80 mm mounting location and that your motherboard or fan controller provides a compatible header before purchasing.

Questions about this item

Will the 80 mm PWM PST fan work with my older motherboard that only has 3-pin headers?

The fan uses a 4-pin PWM connector; it will run at full speed on a 3-pin header but speed control requires a 4-pin PWM header.

How can I confirm the fan is regulating RPM in sync through the PST port after installation?

Connect the fan to a PWM header, enable PWM control in BIOS or software, then watch the RPM reading change with temperature — it should rise and fall smoothly.

Does the box include mounting screws or a fan cable splitter, or must I buy them separately?

The package contains the 80 mm fan only; mounting screws and any additional cables or splitters are not included and must be purchased separately.
