Oculink SFF-8611 to U.2 U.3 NVME Cable
This cable converts an Oculink SFF-8611 4i host port to an SFF-8639 U.2 or U.3 NVME device connector. It carries PCIe signals without protocol conversion and is transparent to the operating system. No drivers are required for the link to function. The assembly is sold as a cable only; adapter or card is not included.
Suits builders adding U.2
The link supports PCIe 5.0, 4.0 and 3.0 x4 electrical widths and meets the 64Gbps PCI-E 4.0 specification. It does not support SAS raid controllers, so buyers needing SAS connectivity should look elsewhere. Hot-plugging is not supported, so systems requiring live drive insertion cannot use this cable. Only PCI-E signalling is carried across the link.
Keyed connectors prevent misalignment but
Installation is a straight internal cable run between the host Oculink port and the target U.2 or U.3 device. The connector keying guides orientation, yet the supplier notes that incorrect insertion direction can damage equipment. No software configuration is needed, but the lack of hot-plug support means the system must be powered down before connecting or disconnecting the cable.

Questions about this item
Does my motherboard need an Oculink SFF-8611 4i port to use this cable?
Yes, the cable connects a host controller with an Oculink SFF-8611 4i connector to a U.2 or U.3 device.
Will this cable work with a PCIe 3.0 x4 NVME drive?
The cable supports PCIe 5.0, 4.0 and 3.0 x4, so a PCIe 3.0 x4 NVME drive will operate at its native speed.
How can I confirm the link is running at PCIe 4.0 64Gbps after installation?
Check the negotiated link speed in your operating system device manager or BIOS; it should report PCIe 4.0 x4 for a 64Gbps connection.
