System purpose

This ArsenalPC ASUS ROG GR701 desktop pairs an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X 16-core processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card and 64GB DDR5 memory. It targets enthusiasts who want a pre-built Windows 11 machine ready for 4K gaming, content creation and heavy multitasking. Buyers needing a smaller chassis, a lower power envelope or a different GPU tier should look elsewhere.

Sustained workload behaviour

A 360mm liquid cooler handles the Ryzen 9 9950X heat output during extended sessions, while the 1000W power supply feeds both CPU and RTX 5080 without throttling. The 2TB NVMe SSD and 2TB SATA HDD provide fast primary storage plus bulk capacity for large project files. VR-ready certification means the GPU maintains frame rates in prolonged headset use.

Thermals, noise and power

Liquid cooling keeps the 16-core processor at stable temperatures under load, reducing fan speed compared with air-cooled alternatives. The RTX 5080 with 16GB GDDR7 memory draws significant power, but the 1000W unit supplies headroom for peaks. In typical gaming scenarios the system runs quietly, with pump and fan noise staying low thanks to the large radiator surface.

Questions about this item

How much power does the 1000W supply draw when the Ryzen 9 9950X and RTX 5080 run at full load all day?

The 1000W unit powers the 16-core 4.3GHz CPU and 16GB GDDR7 GPU under sustained load; the 360mm liquid cooler keeps CPU temperatures controlled during extended sessions.

Does the ASUS ROG GR701 need any extra cables or a monitor to start gaming?

Windows 11 Home is pre-installed on the 2TB NVMe drive; only a display, keyboard and mouse are required to begin.

Will my existing SATA III hard drives work alongside the 2TB NVMe SSD in this GR701?

Yes, the motherboard provides SATA III ports so the included 2TB HDD and any older SATA drives can run together with the NVMe boot drive.
