Shank and chuck compatibility limits

The bit fits standard three-jaw chucks that accept a 7/16 inch shank, so it works with most 1/2 inch capacity drill drivers and drill presses. It cannot be used in smaller 3/8 inch chucks or SDS-plus rotary hammers without an adapter, which is not included. Users must match the chuck size to the bit shank before starting work.

Depth capacity and material headroom

The 16 inch length provides ample reach for through-bolting timber, drilling stud walls and penetrating stacked materials in a single pass. In hard steel or reinforced concrete the cutting edges will wear faster and the bit may overheat if feed pressure is excessive. For continuous high-volume production drilling a dedicated high-speed steel or carbide bit is more suitable.
