Next Up Hero Early Access Action RPG

This downloadable game delivers an action RPG experience through Steam Early Access. Players battle the Ceaseless Dirge using Legendary Heroes across procedural sessions. Each death leaves an Echo that assists the next player in the community-driven progression loop. The title comes from Digital Continue, the studio founded by Scribblenauts co-creator Joe Tringali.

Steam Code Activation and Supported Controllers

Installation requires a Steam account to redeem the online code and download the client. The process follows standard Steam library workflows with no additional launchers or DRM layers. Windows 8 and 8.1 are explicitly unsupported, so upgrading or downgrading the OS may be necessary. A broadband connection is mandatory for activation and online features.

Minimum Hardware Baseline and Platform Limits

The minimum specification calls for an Intel Core i3 at 3.4 GHz or AMD A8-7600 at 3.1 GHz with 8 GB RAM. Graphics support starts at Radeon HD 6850, GeForce 650 or Intel Iris Pro 5200 with 1 GB VRAM. Storage needs 5 GB of free space. As an Early Access release, the game may change significantly or remain unfinished, and Windows 11 compatibility is not confirmed by the publisher.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the game activates and launches correctly on Steam after entering the code?

Redeem the code in the Steam client, verify the title appears in your library, then launch it and reach the main menu without errors to confirm it is working as intended.

What does the download package include and is a physical disc or separate DRM key required?

The package is a digital download only; you receive an online game code for Steam activation, no disc ships and no additional key is needed beyond the supplied code.

My PC meets the minimum specs but runs Windows 8.1 — can I still play this Early Access version?

Windows 8 and 8.1 are explicitly unsupported, so the game will not run on 8.1; you would need Windows 7 or Windows 10 to meet the listed OS requirement.
