12 ft x 400 ft Clear Poly Film

This clear polyethylene film measures 12 feet wide by 400 feet long with a 1 mil thickness. It serves as a protective dropcloth, spray barrier or vapour barrier for interior walls and crawl spaces. The roll is new and suited to construction and renovation tasks.

Drywall and Concrete Site Protection

The film works well for drywall trades needing a dust and moisture barrier, and for covering fresh concrete during curing. It is not intended for buyers who need a reinforced or fire-rated membrane, or for anyone requiring a thicker gauge for heavy abrasion resistance.

1 Mil Thickness Rating

The single specification that defines suitability is the 1 mil thickness. This gauge determines whether the film meets the vapour permeance and tear resistance required for a given site condition.

Questions about this item

What does the 1 mil thickness mean for vapour-blocking performance in a framed wall?

At 1 mil the film acts as a Class I vapour retarder, limiting moisture diffusion through interior walls and crawl-space floors when taped at seams.

How does the 12-foot width affect installation on standard stud bays?

The 12-foot roll covers a full 8-foot ceiling height plus lap allowance in a single drop, reducing horizontal seams on tall walls.

What framing or fastening method is needed to hold the 400-foot roll during concrete curing?

The film is laid loose over wet concrete and weighted at edges with lumber or sandbags; no mechanical fasteners penetrate the slab.
