Compact AI barebone with Ryzen 5 8640U

The ASRock Industrial 4X4 BOX-8640U is a barebone mini PC built around the AMD Ryzen 5 8640U processor and integrated AMD Radeon 700M graphics. It targets developers and integrators deploying local AI workloads, offering up to 96 GB of DDR5 5600 memory across two SO-DIMM slots and a combined 39 TOPS of NPU, CPU and GPU compute. No memory or storage is included in the box.

Dual M.2 PCIe Gen4 and USB4 display limits

The platform provides two M.2 Key M slots — one supporting 2242 and 2280 lengths, the other 2242 only — both wired for PCIe Gen4 x4. Two front USB4 ports carry DisplayPort 1.4a signalling for external monitors, while two rear HDMI 2.1 ports complete the quad-display capability. Wired networking tops out at 2.5 Gbps on one port and 1 Gbps on the second. Wireless uses Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2.

Check power, memory and cooler clearance

The unit ships with a 19 V external power adapter; verify the connector and cable reach your mounting location. You must supply two 262-pin DDR5 5600 SO-DIMMs, each up to 48 GB, to reach the 96 GB maximum. The active cooling solution is integrated into the black chassis, so confirm the enclosure ventilation matches your intended orientation before ordering.
