1U barebone for four full-height GPUs

This 1U rackmount barebone supports a single AMD EPYC 7002 or 7003 series processor in a Socket SP3. It targets AI, machine-learning and high-performance compute workloads that need dense GPU acceleration. No memory is installed; eight 288-pin DDR4 slots accept RDIMM or LRDIMM modules up to 256 GB per DIMM.

Redundant 2000 W platinum power

Dual 1+1 CRPS units deliver 2000 W at 200-240 V with 80-PLUS Platinum efficiency. The front section holds three full-height dual-slot cards via the 1U4G_SL2P_L_RDV and 1U4G_SL2P_R_RDV risers, while the rear adds one more full-height dual-slot card on 1U4G_SL2P_L_RDV and two low-profile cards on RB1UX16_G4. Eight E1.S or M.2 trays provide PCIe x4 storage. Dual 1 GbE RJ45 ports use an Intel i350-AM2 controller, and IPMI remote management is integrated.

Verify CPU, memory and GPU clearance before ordering

Confirm the exact EPYC model is on the supported list; 7003 series parts require a BIOS update from ASRock Rack technical support. Memory must be DDR4 RDIMM or LRDIMM at 3200, 2933, 2666 or 2400 MHz — no other type is supported. GPU cards must fit the dual-slot full-height or low-profile form factors dictated by the specific riser kits, and the 1U chassis depth limits card length.

Questions about this item

What PCIe generation do the GPU slots run at, and what is the practical bandwidth limit per card?

Each GPU slot is PCIe 4.0 x16, capping bandwidth at the PCIe 4.0 x16 limit for every installed card.

What rack depth and clearance does this 1U chassis require for the four dual-slot GPUs and CRPS supplies?

The unit measures 1.71" high, 34.65" deep and 17.24" wide; allow full 34.65" depth plus cable bend radius for the front and rear GPU risers and redundant 2000W CRPS modules.

How are the GPU riser cards installed, and which orientation step is most often missed?

Install the 1U4G_SL2P_L_RDV and 1U4G_SL2P_R_RDV risers into the motherboard slots, then mount the RB1UX16_G4 rear riser; the step most often missed is securing the rear low-profile bracket before inserting the front full-height cards.
